Why is Offerchat Live Chat App Free?

Good question. Throughout our beta launch, we have had many of our new sign ups ask us why Offerchat is Free. The reason is simple: Our revenue model rests on the human side of live chat, which means we will be offering live chat outsourcing soon. (Update: we now offer live chat as a service for website owners who need assistance with live chat coverage > check it out!)

Although we’re still in beta (as of writing) and are regularly updating and testing the Offerchat live chat tool with the help of user feedback, the tool will still be forever free for all users. All premium features that come with the tool will also be free to use.

There is no real secret here, no sinister plans or clever catches. We are not data sellers, we are simply trying to extend the reach of the tool to make it more effective at turning your website visitors into customers.

Developing a Live Chat Through Customer Feedback

There’s one very important ingredient we need in concocting the best live chat tool, and that’s customer feedback. We’ve decided to build our tool based on what users manifest - what they say they liked and didn’t like. In order to gather feedback for our tool, we have decided to offer it at no charge.

So there you have it - a working live chat tool for 0$..for everyone! Please try it out and send us suggestions or feedback (using the feedback button or by connecting directly with us at jkennedy[at]offerchat.com), that’s it.

We’ve been testing Offerchat internally since early September, but there is no way to predict all the things that can go right, until we put it in the hands of the people we are building it for. YOU.

Since November 16th, we’ve received tons of feedback and since then we have released two iterations (now 3) which included some bug fixes and new feature releases. THANK YOU!

      Hi there! Yes, you’re absolutely right. Everyone needs food to eat so we gotta earn.

      As already mentioned, Offerchat earns through the live chat outsourcing services we are making available to businesses who needs additional members in their live chat customer support team or companies who’d like to outsource their live chat agents. More here: https://www.offerchat.com/hire-agent and it’s going to be updated with more flexible (more affordable) packages very soon.

      Also, we’re offering to whitelabel the live chat widget wherein users can upload their own brand-specific logo to the widget instead of the default Offerchat logo. Fees will be applied. We’re earning through that too.

      With regard to the Offerchat live chat tool per se, we’re sticking with out commitment and promise that anybody can use it on their websites and enjoy all maximum premium features for free. Even after we get out of beta. We think it will help a lot of small businesses and site owners. No catch here. There are a lot of users giving us valuable feedback and recommendations to friends/colleagues… we really appreciate them and down the road, we trust that these recommendations can expose us to people willing to avail of our live chat services thus, driving the wheels of the business side of things.
